Ideas for Making Rivers
This one uses 1/8" thick heavy duty vinyl tiles to make my rivers > http://wargamesandstuff.blogspot.com/2010/02/making-rivers.html
Excellent idea, machine cut ends and exactly 12" long - the sky's the limit.
Also use 00 gauge bridges, you should be able to find old type bridges or even new ones depending on time period.

Basing Figures
Basing figures is always a nightmare - in my opinion.
Different base sizes for different games and rulesets. I have searched the internet and not found very much advice really.
So I have decided that I will just use my own - as I don't usually play against anyone else I thought whats the point of worrying. I will base all my figures the same and that way everyone is equal.
I have been using a company call warbases (http://www.warbases.co.uk/) and have put all person figures on 20mm circular bases, cavalry (2 x horses) on 40x60mm. Skirmishers can be put on a 2x1 movement tray with infantry etc on a 6x2 tray. Casualty and other markers on 40mm bases and Command on 50mm.
I'll do some pictures soon....
